Spring - A Poem

Rays of sunshine tickle
Out in the garden,
As I sit
Bare skinned
For the first time in months.

The blue sky
And strums of a guitar
Bring a smile to my lips.

Two months into the lockdown,
Spring has arrived.
Tuscany is in full bloom,
The yellow daffodils a light blanket
Over the hills.

Tears in my eyes prickle
Out in the garden
As I sit
Bare skinned
For the first time in months.

The blue sky
And guitar strums
Weigh down my heart.

One month into lockdown
And still,
The end is not in sight.
