Designed in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, the International School of Hilversum, the International School of The Hague, and Eromesmarko, this SusEd summit represents a unique opportunity for Dutch, Benelux and European schools to come together in a spirit of solidarity so that, together, we can nurture the culture shift required for education to meet the most urgent challenge of our time.
The event will be hosted by Eromesmarko at their site in Wijchen, Netherlands - a town in the province of Gelderland, which is a two-hour drive or train journey from major cities such as Amsterdam, Antwerp and Dusseldorf.
Our Focus
The three-day summit will bring students, teachers and leaders from national and international systems of education together with policymakers, leaders in business and industry and climate experts. We will work collaboratively to investigate the summit theme, From Environmental Awareness to Collaborative Action, and embrace the imperative of education and leadership to shape a pathway to a better, more peaceful and sustainable future.
Outcomes
Delegates will explore systems thinking, sustainability practices, and regenerative leadership to help transition from environmental awareness to collaborative action. By critically evaluating the role of education, fostering cross-sector collaboration, and creating networks for action, attendees will be equipped with practical tools, innovative strategies, and a shared vision to drive impactful change within their schools/organisations, communities, and beyond. Through a dynamic combination of workshops, discussions, and networking, the summit will inspire participants to lead with purpose, foster equity, and model sustainable practices.
As a graduate of the EESLS, you and your students will join an active and dynamic alumni network of sustainability thought leaders who can inspire change locally, regionally and globally. This unique community will support you in driving positive impact wherever you are.
Registration
We have reserved places for representatives from 23 schools, universities and organisations across Europe. Each school is encouraged to send five participants, typically including the Principal, Bursar/Operations Manager (or equivalent), a ‘champion teacher,’ and two students from Grade 9 or above. However, we recognise that we will need to be flexible in accommodating as broad and diverse a demographic as possible, so please be encouraged to explore a different shape to your delegation as your context dictates. This is a great opportunity to become part of a leading group of dynamic, innovative thought leaders and actors in education.
Please click on the link above to complete the registration form by Friday, 14 February 2025. All contacts will receive confirmation of a place and a link to the official summit registration form, followed by the invoice for payment.
